Healthcare Pros is designed to create clear, credentialed pathways into Wisconsin’s growing healthcare sector. By combining exposure, hands-on training, and certification, we prepare participants especially those from underserved communities for meaningful careers in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health organizations.
Program Credentials & Highlights:
- Career Exploration & Exposure: Participants engage with healthcare professionals, tour medical facilities, and explore diverse roles including nursing assistant, medical administrative support, phlebotomy, and patient care technician.
- Foundational Certifications: Training includes CPR/First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and basic life support (BLS), with pathways to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and other entry-level credentials.
- Work-Based Learning: Students gain supervised experience in clinical and simulated healthcare environments, building confidence and competence in patient care, communication, and safety protocols.
- Employer Partnerships: Collaborations with Milwaukee-area hospitals, clinics, long-term care providers and Technical College to ensure job placement opportunities and curriculum relevance for a competitive workforce.
- Labor Market Alignment: Program design is informed by data from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and local healthcare employers, targeting high-demand roles in direct care, support services, and allied health.
- Inclusive Access & Support Services: We prioritize outreach to vulnerable populations, and economically disadvantaged residents. Wraparound services include assistance, career coaching, and academic support.
- Stackable Credentials & Career Pathways: Participants can build toward advanced roles such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant, Surgical Technician or Health Information Technician through continued education and sponsored training.
Healthcare Pros is a necessary workforce pipeline and contributes to Wisconsin’s broader strategy for equitable economic development. By combining exposure, training, and certification, we help individuals launch careers that make a difference in their lives and in the lives of others.
