Ms. Shyrida Lane is a visionary leader whose life story embodies triumph over adversity. Growing up in Milwaukee’s 53206 neighborhood, she faced challenges that included extreme poverty, foster care, and dropping out of high school. These experiences shaped her resilience and ignited her passion for helping others break cycles of hardship.

With unwavering determination, Ms. Lane earned a Master’s Degree in Business and a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Professional Counseling. She went on to build a career spanning over 25 years in leadership and management, dedicated to empowering communities and creating opportunities for underserved populations.

Over the past 15 years, Ms. Lane’s impact has been profound. She spent five years as Director of Workforce Development, Education and Training at the Social Development Commission, and a decade as Director of Adult Services at Silver Spring Neighborhood Center. Through her leadership, countless individuals were connected to education, skills training, and credentials that transformed not just their lives, but their families’ futures.

What sets Ms. Lane apart is her deep understanding of trauma, systemic barriers, and the power of intentional support. She approaches every individual with empathy, creativity, and a belief in their potential. By blending cognitive behavioral principles with a wraparound model of care, she has helped hundreds of people not only achieve their goals but rise beyond poverty and reclaim their sense of purpose.
